About Developmental Options
A Place to Belong, Grow, and Thrive

Who We Are
Developmental Options is a private nonprofit organization providing residential care and individualized support for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities throughout Southeast Idaho.
Since 1982, we have worked alongside individuals, families, guardians, and community partners to create opportunities for people to live safe, meaningful, and fulfilling lives.
Today, Developmental Options supports more than 30 individuals through three eight-bed Intermediate Care Facilities for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (ICF/ID) and community-based Residential Habilitation services. We believe every individual deserves to be treated with dignity, respected for their choices, and given opportunities to build independence and participate in their community.
The people we support are at the heart of everything we do. Our services are built around each individual's abilities, needs, interests, and goals, with an emphasis on independence, personal choice, meaningful relationships, and community involvement.
About Our Staff
Person-Centered Care from a Dedicated Team
Our team is carefully selected and thoroughly trained to provide safe, respectful, and compassionate support. Every employee completes background checks and drug screening, along with 16 hours of crisis intervention training through the MANDT System. Staff also receive American Heart Association First Aid and CPR training and ongoing education in best practices for supporting individuals with developmental disabilities.

Direct Support Workers
Helping Residents Everyday
Our team of Direct Support Workers help residents with daily living while encouraging independence. They assist with personal care, meals, activities, and skill development; follow each resident’s treatment and support plans; and document progress. They also work with nurses and other team members to maintain a safe home that respects each resident’s rights, dignity, and choices.
