Southeast Idaho Supported Living

Building Skills. Encouraging Independence.

Developmental Options provides Residential Habilitation services to individuals enrolled in the Medicaid Waiver program who live with family members or independently in their own homes and apartments throughout the community.

Supported Living Services

Support Designed Around Each Individual

Residential Habilitation services may focus on a variety of daily living and community-based skills, including:

Mobility and navigating the community
Social skills and positive behaviors
Self-care and personal hygiene
Basic safety awareness
Housekeeping and home management
Health care and wellness routines
Financial management
Other skills that support daily independence

Services are provided in home and apartment settings, allowing individuals to learn and practice skills in the places where they live. Caregivers provide guidance, encouragement, and hands-on assistance based on each person’s abilities, needs, and goals.

Our Support Strategies

Positive Behavioral Supports

Developmental Options uses Positive Behavioral Supports to help individuals develop meaningful skills and achieve greater independence. Positive Behavioral Supports is a sustainable form of applied behavior analysis (ABA) that seeks to understand the factors contributing to challenging behaviors and identify effective, supportive ways to respond.

Rather than focusing only on the behavior itself, this approach considers what may be maintaining the behavior and what the individual may be communicating through it. Support strategies are designed to encourage positive outcomes, improve quality of life, and help individuals succeed in their homes and communities.
